Lucky Jefferson

Lucky Jefferson is a quarterly literary magazine based in Illinois, showcasing art, poetry, and short stories by POC creatives. This summer, I had the opportunity to intern for Lucky Jefferson for a variety of their projects.

Editorial Illustrations: Each week a poem was given to create an adjoining illustration. The poem, "The Crick" evoked the sense of losing someone but drinking or eating reminded the author of them.

Poetry & Prose: A promotional poster for the Lucky Jefferson website and social media to promote their "Poetry & Prose" contest. The brief was to showcase how POC creatives have to jump through many metaphorical hoops to get their work published.

Infographics: With extra time in my internship, I offered to do an extra project which were some infographics to showcase the data Lucky Jefferson and their collaborator Illinois Humanities got from POC creatives and readers.
